The company that originated in a lumber yard, began production with a limited amount of metal lath and accessories produced late in 1939.

At the beginning of 1942, World War II required strict allocation of raw steel and because of this, the company turned to war-time production of materials, producing .30 caliber metallic belt links used in machine guns.  Total production reached 750,000 links per day.
